I was looking through the several million photos I've taken so far and realised there were a heap I just couldn't categorise. Ironically when they are all put together they form a fairly good representation of our experiance of the Solomon Islands so far. Enjoy.
War relics are everywhere. Every little village has a collection of things that have just been picked up. In retrospect perhaps not all of those things should be picked up again.

Roofing Solomons style.
Reroofing the hotel foyer. Note the OHS&W approve scaffolding NOT! One afternoon the hotel manager had to ask the workers to stop because they were too drunk.

Continuing the OHS&W theme. I can't remember if the first rule of chainsawing (in this case the start of a sculpture) was don't use the tip of the saw, or always wear goggles, hearing protection, gloves and shoes!

There is another newer, nicer Honiara Casino and to be honest I've always been to scared to go into this one but I love the facade, its just like Vegas, on a bad day.

Riot training. The fact that its done in full sun, 33c, 100% huidity for 2 hours means its often followed by IVrehydration.

Looks like a normal street scene until you count the tyres on the back of the truck. Not unusual.

BeeGee a friend of a friend. BeeGee is a traditional dancer, musician and traditional tatooist. He did a lot of his own traditional Renbel tatoos.

Lizard Love. What can I say, lizards have needs and night shifts are really boring.

Superbug! This Rhinoceros beetle is at least 5 cm long, it flies (poorly) and allegely dan drive its horn right through your finger if you mess with it.

Dont you hate it when you've put a day aside to work in the garden, you start turning over the vege beds and then have to spend the rest of the day digging out the japanese tank before you can put in the casava?

Putting out the landing lights on the helipad at 2pm because the rain is so heavy its getting dark.

Still raining! The locally employed contractor's tent slowly submerges.

Your taxes at work. A small sample of the RAMSI parking lot.

Beautiful parrots, tiny cage.
